My question is this- has anyone had any success and if so please share, how to install windows 10 fully functional on an unsupported mac such as mine. additionally, sometimes the close, minimize, maximize buttons in the corners of the screen are not there. The download size of Boot Camp drivers is 553. I have been working towards installing Windows 10 on my mid-2010 Mac Pro and have been using the following thread as a guide: said thread.Ive formatted both my BOOTCAMP volume (where I plan on installing Windows), and the USB drive being used to boot from, to ExFat. sound works fine otherwise, but cortana voice does not work. Some issues that I do have though- cortana does not speak to me.
I am looking for other users in a similar situation who can either share with me their issues, and/orġ- Installing Windows 10 as an upgrade or a clean install: I have tried both, the easier way is as an upgrade because then the Boot Camp will install correctly (this software will not install on anything later than windows 7) and then I installīoot camp over it to address any incompatibilities since bootcamp 5 is designed for windows 8 (this leads to its own extra problems like no driver for the coprocessor, but i simply manually reinstall the 4.0 drivers as needed and it seems to be 'okay' However, here were some issues I had in build 10074 and some problems with installing and making it all work right, that ultimately led to me downgrading. At your Mac’s bootup screen pick the DVD icon with ‘Windows’ under it (do not pick the DVD icon with EFI under it) Now wait till you enter the setup. Put it in the drive and power up your Mac with Alt/Option pressed. I have searched the forum for answers and havent found one that seems to solve my question so here it goes. Boot the Windows 10 DVD in legacy BIOS mode.
